Within Saint Trent, there is no such thing as a monetary system rather a bartering system where certain items of the same value are exchanged. Here is a simple explanation of the value items that can be found within Saint Trent.

Examples of Trade Items:
Chalk Rocks:
These are Chalk Rocks. They are used for writing messages on the black roads and are a cheap but rather inefficient means of writing. Chalk Rocks are occasionally found lying around the road, but they can also be stolen from house lawns from citizens of Volonda.Their trade value is only worth 50ยข.
Charcoal:
The purpose of charcoal closely resembles chalk rocks, but obviously they write in black and are more useful on sidewalks; though they are a bit rarer to find on the streets. They can also be used to write on paper if the charcoal is thin enough.Their trade value is only worth $1.00.
Pencils:
Pencils are highly popular and always in need within State House. Broken bits can be found on the street, though complete pencils have a higher value. Complete pencils have a value of $1.00. During time periods where pencils are less abundant, their price increases up to $2.00.
Utensils:
Kitchen utensils come in a pack of three including a spoon, knife, and a fork. Both steel and wooden sets are available within many trading posts across Saint Trent, and the value for a steel set is $15, while a wooden pack will only cost $6.
